Now that our previous conversation has been given some context, I wanted to thank you for your consideration.
For the time being, I think I'll be staying with the Foreigner's Guild. But I had perhaps a proposition for you, something that would be mutually beneficial for our two guilds, if you're amenable to listen to it.
And I wouldn't expect you to! Just hearing me out is already very gracious, thank you.
As you know, Foreigners tend to come unexpectedly and tend to have eclectic skillsets and temperaments. Combined with the fact with the disorientation of appearing in new places with a variety of cultures, it can often take time to get established, to get used to finding employment.
I don't know if such an establishment in some form already exists in Keeliai, but I intend to make something we call a Temp Agency where I'm from - short for Temporary Agency. It's a organization that matches a freeflowing pool of potential employees with jobs as they appear, and is especially useful for jobs that are seasonal or very short term. It's beneficial for business who need to fill positions quickly, and it helps employees stay steadily employed without needed a single steady position.
I see. There are some similar structures that I know of; usually around apprenticeships. Foreigners don't fit well, since as you say they come and go rather frequently. We'll also have related services for our Guild members.
[Rosyn can tell approximately where this is going.]
And you'd like to partner with us to fill temporary employment needs with Foreigners?
This wouldn't be under the banner of the Foreigner's Guild though, just... under my own banner, I suppose. A business venture.
I'm limiting it to foreigners right now just as a proof of concept, but there's no reason I wouldn't be able to take on Kedan clients as well, if there's a demand. I think I would need startup money for something that ambitious though- and, well, it's a Service oriented business, so if something like that were to happen, it would probably make sense for me to enroll in the appropriate guild...
This sounds like something that touches on aspects of several guilds - ours as well as the Merchants, and certainly with the Foreigners Guild even if it wasn't an official component of it.
You've made some rather public statements that suggest you're more interested in leading the Foreigners Guild than joining another one. As well, inter-guild business is by no means problematic.
If you're serious about this 'temp agency', draft a business proposal for potential investors.
[Which could be the Service Workers Association, or the Lantern, or someone else entirely.]
[ Some plans aren't destined to come to fruition. She doesn't say that out loud though. Stupid obnoxious vampires have good advice sometimes.
She's- confused though. Wasn't the reason Rosyn approached her to get her to join the Service Worker's guild? Why was she trying to convince her to stay with the Foreigner's guild, then?
It only takes her a moment to realize that having a 'friend' in the leadership of another guild would benefit her much more than just a new apprentice, though. It was a crafty ploy, but unfortunately, Rosyn's confidence in her was misplaced. Or perhaps Rosyn saw in her someone that was easy to manipulate. Maybe she was right. ]
[Think what you will, Sonja. Rosyn does like to play her cards close to the vest. Perhaps Rosyn is testing her, or perhaps it is manipulation. There's no way to tell.]
It's an intriguing idea, Sonja. Formalizing it on paper will give you a better chance at finding support - I, for one, like to get things in writing before I make decisions on them. Conversations like this are merely the first step of the whole process of starting a business.

Ah, thank you. I'll do that.
